Acquisition Wing (Land Systems)
Acquisition Wing (Land Systems) functions under Director General (Acquisition) and is headed by Joint Secretary & Acquisition Manger (LS). The Wing is responsible for Capital acquisitions of the Indian Army. The Capital acquisition of Defence items/equipments is processed as per the Defence Procurement Procedure, as amended from time to time which lays down the guidelines and detailed procedures for Capital Procurement. The procurement procedure in vogue is Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP) 2020 that focuses on boosting indigenous defence capability, promoting ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ while reducing reliance on imports. JS&AM (LS) heads the collegiate for vetting the Requests for Proposal (RFP) and the Commercial Negotiation Committee (CNC) for finalization of contracts. Acquisition Wing (Land Systems) also processes responses to Audit Paras, Parliament Questions and references received from Parliament Committees. The Wing comprises of:- a) Two Directors/Deputy Secretaries who process capital acquisition matters. b) Director (Acquisition) who handles coordination, International Cooperation (IC) and Defence Procurement Board (DPB) work c) Director (DAC) who handles Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) work.
